WHAT DOES MUSIC DO TO YOU?
Prayer, for me, is getting in touch with someone greater than me, greater than my problems, greater than this world I live in. This someone is the GREATEST and the BEST of all. In my religion, we call him GOD the Father, JESUS CHRIST the Son, and the HOLY SPIRIT. I was born and raised a Catholic Christian. We were taught that we can pray anywhere, any time and in any way. We can pray out loud or we can just pray in our heads because GOD is omnipotent and can hear any prayer said.
MUSIC has been the most effective way of praying for me. They don't have to be exactly prayer songs or praise and worship. It could be a favorite song I hear on the radio. It amazes me when I hear a song with lyrics that fit my particular situation at a particular moment. This happens to all of us, doesn't it? When it does, little do we know that we are already praying. MUSIC, indeed, has a way of making everything alright. When we are happy or sad, there is a certain melody that goes with how we are feeling and whatever it is, it never fails to uplift us.
This is exactly where my passion is coming from. MUSIC for me is PRAYING. I sing my own songs that I've written and even other popular songs that I cover. When I do, I am in touch with GOD.
